Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006 has lot of potential, but falls short because of limited included content and faulty user-made downloads. This game is not for laptops unless the laptop is new and has a solid ati or nvidia graphics card. No matter how fast I go around a curve, I cant derail. Whatever you do, do not buy the 2006 version of TRAINZ. TRAINZ requires an immense amount of processor speed, hard disk space, and graphics memory-be sure to read ALL of the system requirements before buying. You have to wait about 10 minutes for the game to fully shut down before restarts or shuting down your computer ( the games windows will disapear but it will be running in the background saving the assets) sometimes the game appers to not respond even though it is and you just have to wait 5-40 minutes. I like the game, but I bought this thinking it would be more realistic than Trainz Driver 2. In my opinion, Microsoft's Train Simulator, even though outdated, is a much better product and certainly costs much less. I was in trainsimming since 2001, when microsoft train simulator was released.Ĭontentfree content available on line so that's a plus for a sim game. The big issue is lack of good documentation.
